Mission Statement

The mission of the Saratoga County Sheriff Officers Association is to protect and serve the community by providing quality service, and promoting a safe environment to enhance the quality of life for its citizens, and its guests. Our association is broken down into three main sections; Communications, Corrections and the Civil and Records Offices.

Although rarely seen by the public, corrections officer's are always on watch around the clock maintaining a safe and secure correctional facility keeping the citizens of Saratoga County safe.

Our corrections division is in charge of all of the inmates at the Saratoga County Correctional Facility. Our corrections officers are there to maintain safety, security and good working order among the inmates in the jail, along with providing the public with information about visiting hours and regulations. Our officers are also trained in CPR, and are always undergoing additional training to further improve their skills and better serve the department. Our corrections division is also broken down by rank; Corrections Officers, Corrections Sergeants, Corrections Lieutenants, and is overseen by the Colonel.

Our communications division strives on providing prompt and effective law enforcement and emergency service communications for all the residents of Saratoga County. We are here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, weekends, nights and holidays to answer all calls, both emergency and non-emergency. Skilled communications personnel are always ready, answering land-line and cellular 911 calls, and also non-emergency lines. Our agency dispatches Fire and EMS for all of the communities of Saratoga County. We also dispatch Police for the entire county, outside of Saratoga Springs, Mechanicville and Waterford. We are also constantly working together with surrounding counties and law enforcement agencies to ensure that everyone gets the help that they need in a timely fashion. When answering calls for medical emergencies, we are fully trained in Emergency Medical Dispatch, which gathers valuable information to pass along to emergency responders, as well as providing the public with life saving instructions over the phone. Communications also does a lot of work on the law enforcement side, by assisting deputies with warrants, running data, and entering missing persons, stolen vehicles and other property. The communications division consists of Desk Officers, who are supervised by the Desk Sergeants. The communications division is overseen by the Chief Deputy.

Our association also consists of our records department, pistol permit department and the civil division. Our records staff maintains all records of every call that our agency handles. They also handle every pistol permit application that is put in for Saratoga County and the fingerprinting that is required for this process. Our civil clerks are in charge of civil disputes, evictions and wage garnishments.

Our community is ever growing, and we work hard to manage all the challenges that come with such change. We are always working hard to improve both our department and the service we provide by undergoing continuous training and education to all our members.

We care about the people and communities that we serve, and are proud to do so with the quality and integrity that you deserve
